Abstract

Several groups have as their aim the construction of quantitative “forward models” that transform arbitrary visual stimuli into predictions of neural response. This symposium brings together speakers whose work in this area spans the retina, primary visual cortex, and extra-striate cortex. A common set of image inputs will be used by each speaker to illustrate properties of their model. The overall goal would be to link models along the visual hierarchy, identifying areas for improvement within and across stages.
