Journal of Vision has recently partnered up with the website Scivee.tv, a unique video platform that allows published researchers to load and synchronize scientific articles with video commentary. These PubCasts allow readers to move through the article under the direction of authors and researchers.
We encourage readers to browse through the new JOV channel at Scivee: http://www.scivee.tv/node/24675.
Creating Your Own Video
Please note that these videos are meant to be additional resources for published papers. As such, the option is currently only available to authors who have published with JOV or whose papers are currently in production at JOV.
For interested authors, please email email@example.com to obtain a publisher code to create and link the PubCast to the Journal of Vision channel free of charge. Please note that videos will not be peer reviewed or edited by journal staff, so the authors must ensure that all statements are accurate. After the material has been uploaded tot he site, the editorial staff at ARVO will then check and publish the PubCast to Scivee. A link to the PubCast will then be added to the article listed on the journal's table of contents.
To assist with the process, Scivee has provided instructional resources: http://www.scivee.tv/upload_overview. We recommend authors take a look at these instructions to expedite the upload process, as well as to better acquaint themselves with all of Scivee's features.
Multilingual Abstracts and Videos
Scivee additionally accepts videos and documents in multiple languages. This is an additional way to create momentum for an author's article on an international level. We are also encouraging authors to submit abstracts in their native languages.
